Kuwaiti aid arrives The State of Kuwait will continue to provide relief aid to Sri Lanka, said Abdullah Al Sanousi, the country's ambassador in Colombo. The first consignment of Kuwaiti relief assistance arrived in Katunayake International Airport on December 29, 2004 and the inflow of aid material continued since that day, at a daily average of 20 tonnes of material, the Ambassador noted. Apart from this material aid, the government of Kuwait also donated US dollars 10 million to the Sri Lanka Government to be used in relief work. Mr. Sanousi also observed that this is only part of Kuwait's assistance to the friendly people of Sri Lanka. |
