HNB Assurance meet tsunami claims HNB Assurance Ltd has already commenced the full settlement of all Tsunami-related claims in respect of insurance policies with earthquake cover, motor insurance policies with flood cover, personal accident policies, life insurance policies and all other policies where the relevant covers have been obtained. In addition, the Board of Directors of HNB Assurance has decided to offer 50% (fifty percent) of all other motor insurance claims that have resulted from the Tsunami as well as 50% (fifty percent) of all other property claims resulting from the Tsunami, where flood cover has been obtained, on an ex-gratia basis. This offer will apply to all affected policyholders regardless of the number of years they have been customers of HNB Assurance. Despite HNB Assurance being one of the newest companies in the Sri Lankan insurance market, the company decided to make this offer taking into consideration the immense hardship suffered by its valued clients as a result of this unprecedented natural disaster and its sincere commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). HNB Assurance also took note of the non-availability of earthquake cover for motor vehicles in the Sri Lankan market and the perception in the minds of clients that damages caused by tidal waves can be considered under flood cover. |
