India gifts homeopathic medicines At a simple ceremony at the Indian High Commission, High Commissioner Nirupama Rao handed over a consignment of 825 kilograms of homeopathic medicines to Indigenous Medicine Minister Tissa Karaliyadda. The medicines, supplied by the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and homeopathy), Ministry of Health, Government of India subsequent to a request received from the Government of Sri Lanka, are intended for use in the tsunami affected eastern parts of Sri Lanka. The ceremony was attended by Mr. W.A. Karunasena, Secretary, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine as well as Dr. Eswara Das, a senior consultant in homeopathy deputed by Government of India to Sri Lanka for a period of one year. |
