A Sri Lankan returning from Germany was nabbed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday morning while attempting to smuggle in a prototype of a helicopter, Customs officials said.

He was caught while going through the green channel. Investigations reveal that the passenger, a youth from Kopay in the North in his early thirties. He had arrived in a SriLankan Airlines flight. The machine which weighed about ten kilos, was packed inside a box, and the miniature was of considerable dimensions and operated by remote control, customs sources said.
