Dell introduces 'PowerEdge Servers IT' Dell has introduced a modern and effective line of "PowerEdge Servers IT" for organisations to provide the most complete products and services for customers. The dual processor PowerEdge 1800,1850,2800,2850 servers and Open Manage 4 systems management software are the foundation of Dell's vision for the scalable enterprise,providing customers with powerful building blocks for consolidation, databases, enterprise applications and high performance computing. Dell South Asia Marketing Director Emmanuel Mouquet told a media conference at Intercontinental Hotel on Tuesday that Dell had always been innovative in introducing high-tech and durable Dell systems Information Technology infrastructure to the market and added that Dell was grateful to the Sri Lankan partner Softlogic Trading (Pvt) Ltd for popularising Dell systems in Sri Lanka. Softlogic Chief Executive Officer Roshan Rassool said that the Power Edge Servers introduced by Dell would incorporate technologies and improve performance and capacity for core business and high performance applications. Two processor capacity server unit shipments were expected to account for more than 6.2 million units in 2008, nearly double the 3.5 million units shipped in 2003. Dell would drive further standardisation of core system management functions with base management and remote access hardware and new Dell Open Manage 4 systems management software, he said. Dell revenue for the past quarters has totalled 47.3 billion US dollars. |
