Dilshan slams double ton

Tillekeratne Dilshan hammered an unbeaten double century, while Lanka de Silva stroked 175 as North Central Province went on to amass 555 for three wickets in their second innings against Central Province, who won on the first innings, in their Inter-Provincial cricket match at P. Saravanamuttu Stadium which ended yesterday North Central Province made 314 in their first innings with Central Province replying with 545.

NCP in their second turn who were 184 for 1 overnight on the third day, batted throughout yesterday to finish on 555 fro 3 in 457 minutes.

Avishka Gunawardene, who was unbeaten on 110 the previous day, added only 10 more runs, while Lanka de Silva, who was on 51, went on to make 175 with 21 fours in his 392-minute stay at the wicket.

Dilshan provided the fireworks with his unbeaten 200 coming off only 233 deliveries in 294 minutes. He slammed 22 boundaries and a six in his entertaining knock.

North Central Province: 314 and 555 for 3 in 119 overs (AVishka Gunawardene 120, Lanka de Silva 175, T. M. Dilshan not out 200, D. Pathirane not out 23).

Central Province: 545
