Sumithrapala ordered for summons to be re-issued by fiscal authorities to the Management of the defunct Pramuka Bank who had not been present or represented by their lawyers in court last Friday, President of the Pramuka Bank Depositors' Association Palitha Gamage said. Earlier summons had been sent to the defendants by registered post. Palitha Gamage told the Sunday Observer that they as Depositors, had filed for damages of Rs. 6 billion each in the District Court of Colombo, against the Central Bank, Ford Rhodes Auditors and the Pramuka Bank Management. Central Bank and Ford Rhodes Auditors were represented by their respective lawyers, Pramuka Bank Management comprising its Directors Rohan Perera, A.H.A. Mendis, Udaya Nanayakkara, J.A.D. Lanerolle, K.E.C. Perera and G.S.L. Jinadasa to whom summons had been served, had not been present or represented by their lawyers in Court. Central Bank and Ford Rhodes Auditors had been ordered to file their answers on May 25, on which date the case would be taken up again, Gamage said. |
