Hirdaramani's and Harrow to the rescue of Galle School

Hirdaramani Group of Companies - Maharagama has undertaken to reconstruct Galle Vidyaloka Vidyalaya that was destroyed in the tsunami catastrophe and also to give computers, laboratory requirements and sports items needed by the vidyalaya.

Hirdaramani's have already decided to erect a new two storeyed building in addition to reconstruction of the school.

The relevant agreements has been signed between the Education Secretary Dr. Tara de Mel and the Director of Hirdaramani Group Mr. Anil Hirdaramani recently.

Several cricketers from Harrow the English public school England were playing cricket in Galle Cricket Stadium.

When tsunami struck outset on December 26.

They too have promised to support on reconstruction work of Vidyaloka Vidyalaya. A foundation stone for a new Indoor Stadium at Vidyaloka Vidyalaya will be lain by Principal B.J. Lenon of Harrow who will be in Sri Lanka for the occasion on Wednesday April 06 at 11.30 am.

In memory of their lucky escape from tsunami while playing cricket, on Dec. 26 Harrow school has decided to grant an Indoor Stadium to Galle Vidyaloka Vidyalaya.

Education Ministry sources state all expenses for the erection of Indoor Stadium will be borne by the English public school Harrow, a school over 600 years old in England.
