Prices slashed at hotels for Avurudu by Chanuka Mannapperuma On the eve of the New Year festive season, the local hospitality industry is gearing itself to offer satisfactory services with attractive discounts and colourful promotions. Contract Manager,The Tangerine Group of Hotel Management, Bazir Uvais said they have introduced a number of attractive features for both local and foreign travellers during this festive season. "We have reduced prices in our hotels down South. Accordingly, Tangerine beach hotel and Royal Palm Hotels will be offering a discount of nearly 30 per cent to customers which we expect would attract more guests" added Uvais. He said "so far, they have not received much reservations from foreigners." But we have reservations from local travellers. Tangerine Group of Hotel Management is operating four hotels namely Grand Hotel - Nuwara Eliya, Nilaweli Beach Hotel, Tangerine Beach Hotel and Royal Palm Hotel." Our Nilaweli Beach Hotel was destroyed by tsunami. But we are also planning to re-open it by September with star standards" he added. Aitken Spence Hotel Management, Promotion Manager, Pradeep de Alwis said that they have arranged several new year programs like in previous years. He also noted that reservations for their hotels are now on the increase. Connaissance Hotel management, Sales Manager, Hammed Farook said their hotels have also arranged attractive events for the festive season. "At Culture Club Resort, we have arranged Avurudu events while at La Kandyan special food and drink promotions." |
