Fowzie opens largest natural park

The country's largest natural park, Hurulla National Park was declared open by the Environment and Natural Resources Minister A. H. M. Fowzie yesterday. The park is situated in a land of over 125,000 acres with a number of tanks and waterfalls. According to Wild Life Officers it is also considered a paradise of birds. The Environment & Natural Resources Minister pledged to make all the arrangements to convert the park to a tourist paradise.

The function held to open the park was attended by Indigenous Medicine Minister Tissa Karalliyadda, North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake and several others.
