The Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the killing of Major Muthaliph of the Sri Lanka Army which occurred at about 7.45 a.m. on May 31 at Elvitigala Mawatha close to Polhengoda Junction.

The investigators urge the public to provide information in this regard. Any information received will be treated in strict confidence Police Headquarters press release stated. Information could be given to the following telephone numbers - 2422176, 2326936 and 2320141-4.
