SAARC summit in November

Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz announced here Saturday the twice-postponed summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) will be held in Dhaka on November 12-13. Pakistan, the current chair of the seven-nation regional body, issued the new dates after consultation with the host Bangladesh and other member states.

Seeks assistance to save his life

Iddagoda Liyanage Karunaratne (53) of No. 43, Maithree Mw. Ekala Jaela, suffers veining problem in the brain. The doctors have recommended an operation for his condition but he is unable to obtain any assistance from the President's Fund as is to be operated on for the second time.

The total cost of the operation is Rs. 650,000 including doctors fees of Rs. 4 lakhs and Rs. 250,000 lakhs for tests.
