Special Poson trains from June 19 - 23
As usual the Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) has arranged extra trains to Anuradhapura this Poson Festival too. According to the SLR sources extra trains will be deployed from June 19 (Sunday) to June 23 (Thursday). Arrangements had also been made to buy return tickets from last Friday. The first newly arranged train would leave Fort Railway Station at 7.40 a.m. this morning and tomorrow there would be nine trains from Fort station - at 5.00 a.m., 7.40 a.m., 12.15 p.m. 13.45 p.m., 17.10 p.m., 17.55 p.m. 19.35 p.m. and 23.00 p.m. A special train leaves for Anuradhapura from Matara on June 20 at 14.30 p.m. and another train from Panadura at 11.00 a.m. Only three trains would leave from Colombo on June 21 Tuesday and those would be at 3.20 p.m, 7.40 p.m. and 17.10 p.m. On June 22 Wednesday it would be the same schedule with three trains to Anuradhapura. Five trains would be leaving Anuradhapura to Fort Railway Station on June 21 at 00.45 a.m., 9.30 a.m. (to Mahawa), 18.10 p.m., 19.55 p.m., 21.00 p.m. and 22.00 p.m. June 22 five trains would also be running to Colombo and one for Mahawa. On Thursday only three trains would reach Colombo.
