27 in men's cycling pool The Interim Committee of the Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka organised several cycling trials for men recently and the national selection committee for cycling selected 27 men's cyclists for the training pool in preparation for the South Asian Games to be held next April in Colombo. The six-member selection committee composed of Patrick Happuarachchi, Janaka Athukorale, L.H.Sarath, Kamal Palitha, C.M.Dissanayake and Vasantha Kahapalarachchi selected the folling men's cyclists. Sumeda Rangana, Nalinda Amila Kumara (Two Wheel Club), Upul Lokuge (Paragon Paddlers), Sudeera Thilanga (Battaramulla), Sarath Kumara (The Friends CC), H.L.Krishantha (German Friendship CC), S.K.Varuna Santha, Jagath Kumara (Sri Lanka Police), Sujith Silva, Anil Silva, Janaka Sumith Kumara, Samantha Lakmal, S.T.Swaris (Sri Lanka Air Force), Kumara Hemantha, Damith Nalinda, Sisira Kumara, Sampath Krishantha (Sri Lanka Navy), M.Kapila, Wasantha Harischandra, Thilanga Silva, Kavinda Kalum, P.Meemanage, Gamini Amukotuwa, K.U.Sujith Santha, Janaka Wijesinghe, Saman Kumara, Supun Karunaratne(SL Army). Women's pool The women's cycling pool will be selected after two races, first Avissawella to Wijerama cycle race and time trial at Moratuwa new highway. The women's cyclists can race on standard cycles, accoding to the organisers. L.F. |
