Nature-in-art
An exhibition of paintings by Shiffaya Ghafoor, Chandani Jayawardane and Shyamali de Silva will be open to the public on July 2 and 3 at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery.
Shiffaya Ghafoor is a natural artist, who displays her talent in an imaginative and creative form. She finds inspiration in nature and tries to capture the natural beauty around her through oils, pastels and charcoal. She is also good at ceramics paintings. Chandani Jayawardane who is a swimming coach is especially skilled in portrait and figure drawing through oils on canvas. She had worked at Phoenix (Pvt) Ltd as a Commercial artist for four years. Shyamali de Silva has been fond of art since her childhood. She had won many prizes for her talent. She had taught art as a subject while teaching.
All three have participated in group exhibitions before. This is the fourth group exhibition they intend to have. They had attended Mrs. Sweenitha de Alwis' and Lathifa Ismail's art classes. The preview is on July 1 under the distinguished guest Her Excellency Susanna Theodara Blankhart, Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands. |
