Graduates in permanent cadre Ministry of Relief Rehabilitation and Reconciliation has provided 535 graduate trainees trained under the government's graduate training scheme with permanent appointments with effect from July 1. All them were deployed in remote areas as vacancies exist. The appointees will be attached to the District Secretariats, Divisional Secretariats and Zonal Education offices as Development Assistants in 12 Districts. Amongst the expected outputs by the new recruits are to assist in planning of project activities and executing same with community participation, planning and prioritizing of projects in the relevant area or the district, co-ordination of foreign funded projects implemented by the Ministry and explore employment generating activities in the respective areas. Amongst the total of 535 graduates are 177 Sinhalese, 245 Tamils and 113 Muslims appointed as follows, 75 to Jaffna, 25 to Killinochchi, 75 to Batticalaoa, 30 to Mullaitivu, 100 to Ampara, 30 to Mannar, 25 to Vavuniya 60 to Trincomalee, 15 to Monaragala, 20 to Polonnaruwa, 45 to Anuradhapura and 35 to Puttalam. |
