ACHE builds student's total personality by Don Asoka Wijewardena The mission of the American College of Higher Education (ACHE) is to provide internationally recognised qualifications which will definitely build students' total personality and develop self-confidence enabling them to function effectively as charismatic leaders in multi-cultural environments, said ACHE Director Suresh Yaseen after opening an educational exhibition organised by ACHE at the BMICH recently. Yaseen said that ACHE was academically affiliated to Broward Community College, Ft. Laudardale. Florida USA and this affiliation had enabled the students of ACHE to be transferred to other universities in the United States. He also said that ACHE, since 1995, had been maintaining a high degree of excellence in education as well as an academic affiliation with Excelsior College (member of the university of the State of New York) through which Associate and Bachelors degree programs were conducted in Sri Lanka and conferred by Excelsior College. ACHE Manager Admission Chamara Perera said that ACHE which was set up in 1995 in Sri Lanka with three students was currently having 1500 students in Colombo, 700 in Kandy and 500 of the Galle campus. He said that the university transfer program (UTP) operating successfully at ACHE had enabled students to complete the two-year of the degree program (60 credits) in Sri Lanka and then transfer for the balance two-year to USA or elsewhere to complete a Bachelor's degree in any area of study. The American College of Higher Education is in Dehiwela and the branch campus is in Kandy with its scenic beauty and cooler climate offer students the best possible learning environment. Another branch is also located in Galle. Established in 1995, ACHE has grown as an institution of educational significance in Sri Lanka, offering degree and diploma courses in engineering, microbiology, hospital administration, journalism and veterinary science. |
