Maliban denies links to Muthaliff murder suspect

Maliban Biscuit Manufactures Ltd in a media statement said that the company had never utilized the service of the labour sub contractor, who had been arrested in connection with the murder of Lt. Colonel Muthaliff. "The management of Maliban Biscuit Manufactures has never utilized the service of the said labour sub contractor in its own factory," the company said in the media statement.

It also said a group of employees were engaged in a "smear campaign" against the management based on false allegations that the Chief Executive Officer and Human Resource Manager should be held responsible for the activities of the labour sub contractor.

The Company said it was "deeply concerned about the smear campaign," adding that it would seek legal action against the perpetrators.
