Minister of Trade Commerce and Consumer Affairs Jeyaraj Fernandopulle said that the government will explore the possibilities of getting the JVP into its fold since they were a party to the formation of the government and served in it, but one thing is certain that they will never join the UNP.

The minister was addressing a meeting which followed the opening of a regional office for the Ministry of Medium and Small Scale Plantation Industries and Rural Resources Development for Minister C. B. Ratnayake.

Minister Fernandopulle further said that the country did not need processions like Janabala Meheyuma. But solutions to the burning issues which block the development projects of the government.

He said that the Presidential elections will be held according to the Constitution.
