LHI's Quality Assurance System awarded ISO 9000 certification LHI - The Lanka Hydraulic Institute Ltd has obtained ISO 9000 certification for the company's Quality Management System. LHI, the premier Sri Lankan consultants in Hydraulic and Coastal Engineering, has reestablished their capabilities in this field with increasing exposure to projects abroad. "With a certified Quality Management (QA) system LHI has a proven consistency in quality the outputs and would be able to better integrate with their partner companies the world over. Implementation of a Quality Assurance system and obtaining certification is a part of the business plan of LHI. Our QA system also encompasses ensuring quality data inputs and assessing risks in projects" said Chief Executive/Director of LHI Malith Mendis. "This, I believe is the first time a Sri Lankan Consulting Organisation has obtained ISO 9000 certification. We envision that LHI's profile internationally will be enhanced by a certified Quality Management system. We believe that the time has come for Sri Lanka to export advanced knowledge by value adding and use of IT and thereby discourage the brain drain" said the Management Representative in the implementation of the QA system K.M.
