Sri Lanka Vs Thailand today

Sri Lanka will take on host Thailand in the second game of the second Asian Schools under-15 Football Tournament conducted by the Asian Schools Football Association in association with the Thailand Football Federation to be played today (Sunday) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 18 member Sri Lanka Schools Football team led by Tharindu Rukmal of St. Benedict's College left on Thursday to Bangkok.

Ten countries are participating in the tournament and the teams are grouped into two - 'Group' 'A' Indonesia, Singapore, India, Nepal Group 'B'- Sri Lanka Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Brunei, The matches in the respective groups will play on a league basis and the teams placed winner and runner-up in the two groups will play on a criss-cross basis to find the champion and runner-up of the tourney.

The final is on August 14. Last year South Korea emerged champions while Malaysia placed runner-up in the tournament played in Kuala Lumpur. Mubaris (Al Adhan MV Badulla), Asanka Sanjeeva de Silva (Wayamba, Kurunegela, Royal College), H. M. Sarjudeen (T. B. Jayah Vidyalaya).
