Colombo Plaza to be showcased under new brand name

The Colombo Plaza, the flagship hotel of the new brand Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts will be launched in November 2005.

It will be showcased under the new brand name at the World Travel Mart to be held in London this November.

At present the hotel is undergoing a massive refurbishment program with an investment of US$ 20 million. The refurbishment program which started in June 2004 is still under way. When completed the number of rooms will be increased from the present 250 to 500. They will all cater to international level.

The hotel will have nine restaurants to cater to the most fastidious tastes while 18 months ago the hotel had only two restaurants.

The function rooms will be able to accommodate 900 guests while the Supper Club will be converted to a Executive Business Lounge.

John Keells Holdings(JKH) owns 11 hotels and resorts including two city hotels Colombo Plaza and Trans Asia as well as two resorts in the Maldives.
