Dialog, UAL launch mobile phone insurance

Dialog Telekom Limited recently entered into an agreement with Union Assurance Ltd (UAL), which signalled the launch of Sri Lanka's first insurance cover for mobile phones. The scheme will initially be offered to Dialog Telekom's 'Club Vision' members, priority and corporate cardholders.

The key features of the tailor-made insurance package are cover for theft, loss and accident damage and overseas cover for roaming customers. The special benefits are no claim bonuses at renewal, free personal accident cover and discounted home insurance cover, ensuring a comprehensive package for all those entitled to the scheme.

The insurance package will be one of the many benefits offered to Dialog Telekoms' club vision and priority cardholders, alongside special discounts, personalised priority service and many other benefits. Commenting on this pioneering agreement Nushad Perera, General Manager Sales and Marketing at Dialog Telekom said "This service is extending care for the customer at an all new level by ensuring they have not only the best network, but also peace of mind".

The memorandum of understanding forging the partnership was signed by CEO of Union Assurance Mrs. Marina Tharmaratnam and Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Director/ CEO of Dialog Telekom Limited.

CEO of Union Assurance Mrs. Marina Tharmaratnam said "Continuous innovation and offering value added services are important factors in meeting the expectations of the modern day consumer. With a view to fulfil this, Union Assurance is proud to enter into a partnership with Dialog Telekom to provide a 'protective solution' for their mobile phone users to ensure uninterrupted contactability."

Dr. Wijayasuriya said, "We are delighted to enter into a partnership with Union Assurance to add value to the benefit portfolio extended to our club vision members and priority card holders. Mobile phone insurance is certainly a major step forward in client servicing in Sri Lanka's mobile phone sector.

We are happy to partner the pioneer in this field to deliver yet another product innovation to our customers.
