Vavuniya special correspondent

Sivaperakasam Mayuran a student of Jaffna Hindu College secured the first place islandwide in the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination results (Maths stream) released recently.

He has obtained a Z 'score' of 3.4102, Mayuran from Allarai in Jaffna had his early education at Chavakachcheri Hindu College. Two other mathematics students from the same school, Banugopan and Thaneeshan came 4th and 5th in all Island ranking.

Dileepa Sandaruwan Perera of Royal College, Colombo, Thilanka Priyadarsha Sampath of Mahinda College, Galle, and Chathurika Jeevani Senanayake of Maha Maya School, Kandy were placed first in Science, Commerce and Arts streams respectively.
