De Mazenod in 66 runs victory

De Mazenod College, Kandana registered a comfortable 66-runs victory over Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa in the final of the Hutch Invitation Schools under-19 cricket tournament played at the Lyceum grounds, Wattala. The Mazedonians were awarded the Arena Heracle Trophy. The tournament was organised by Lyceum International School, Wattala.

De Mazenod College: 229 for 9 in 49 overs (Shehan Fernando 21, Yohan Fernando 52, Terrence Levangama 29, n.o. S. Fernando 2 for 48, H. Sanjaya 2 for 13)

Joseph Vaz: 63 for 9 in 49 overs (Rehan Malinya 31, Chamal Rajapakse 60, Shehan Silva 25, V. Fernando 2 for 30, T. Levangama 3 for 33, T. Soysa 2 for 25)

The special awards went to - Best Bowler: Terrence Levengama (De Mazenod College), Best Batsman: Vinitha Padmalal (De Mazenod), Best Fielder: Wasantha Yathraraj (Lyceum, Nugegoda), Player of the Tournament: Amal Weeraratne (Joseph Vaz College).
