Brewers Yeast Product in capsule form increases milk yield in cattle and with proper absorption is highly palatable due to its natural flavour. Besides cattle, house pets such as cats and dogs can be given Brewers product which promotes bonemass and strengthens the immune system against disease, said Hector Pietersz Co (Pvt) Ltd. Managing Director Hector Pietersz at the launch of Brewers Yeast product at the Otters Club, Colombo.

Pietersz said that the Brewers Yeast product manufactured exclusively for animals in 200 gram packets was rich in vitamins for cattle,dogs and cats and would prevent a number of animal diseases. He also said that this product in capsule form would be changed into powder form in the near future as research revealed that animals found it difficult to swallow.

He said that Brewers Yeast was being packeted and marketed by Hector Pieterz Company and it was the byproduct of yeast taken from Lions Brewers Ceylon Ltd.

The company had decided to market chicken feed targeting poultry farmers.

Lions Brewery Ceylon Ltd Special Projects Manager Dr.Chad Kanagachandran said that it was the Hector Pietersz Company which initiated to recycle wasted yeast of the Ceylon Brewery company had set a record in marketing animal feed. He said that Brewers Yeast animal feed had a vast application to the entire animal industry.

It contained no artificial colour and would improve the immune system and animals would become resistant to many diseases.
