Tolerance in the animal world Kindness and tolerance are much valued virtues. We live in a world populated with billions of fellow human beings and even more animals. When we live with, and among others, it is absolutely necessary that we practise kindness and tolerance towards others. We must accept others as they are, and cultivate respect for other living beings. If we don't spare a thought for others, we will soon find that there is no one to help us when we fall into difficulty. To live in peace and harmony with others around us, we should be kind to them and be considerate to their needs. If not, we will find that we are living in a cruel world among rude and inconsiderate people. Even the animal world is filled with acts of kindness and tolerance. Observing your pets could give you an idea about how animals live among other animals and humans. In the pictures here, you can see how a dog and a cat, which are generally considered to be arch enemies, behave towards each other. Although they belong to different species, they have lovingly accepted each other and made the best of each other's company. Isn't this something that we humans can also emulate? |
