Bandaranayake (Retired Senior Administrative Secretary, Postal Department) and Nalini (Retired Teacher - K/Bad-ud-deen Balika, Kandy), brother of Sandya, Gamini (Ceylon Electricity Board), Kumuduni (Sirimalwatte Vidyalaya) & Devika, brother-in-law of  Dr Chamilka, Dr Damith, Vathsal, Anuruddha (Mahawela Estate - Ratnapura), Nawaratne (Police Station, Kegalle) & Thilakaratne (Divisional Secretariat - Menikhinna), expired. Beloved husband of Sheila, loving father of Devika (Achchini), Manjula (Poly pak secco), father-in-law of Thushara De Silva (Doha), Nandika, son of late Pius (Pius Master) and Anceline Samaranayake, son-in-law of late Mark and Madeleine Perera, brother of late Bennette, Dulcie, Cuthbeet, Pantaleon, Manel, late Desmond, Sydney, Irene and Shiranee, expired. Cortege leaves residence 199c, Pubudu Mawatha, Peralanda, Ragama on Sunday 25th September 2005 at 3.00 p.m. for burial at St. Sebastian's Church, burial ground Kandana at 4.00 p.m.

Relict of Andrew Ameresekera of Mattumagala, beloved mother of Judith and Nalini, mother-in-law of Joe Gunawardene and Prof. Charles Senarath, grandmother of Nisanthi and Jude, Rukshan and Tilani, great grandmother of Dilantha, expired. Cortege leaves residence No. 64, Jubilee Road, Laxapathiya, Moratuwa at 4.00 p.m. on Sunday 25th September. Interment at Queen of Angels Church Cemetery, Rawatawatte at 4.30 p.m. 

JAYAWARDENA - MR UPALI (Chairman - National Awards Authority, Private Secretary to the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, former Chairman - National Paper Corporation and former Deputy Director - Vocational Training, Education). Beloved husband of Sheila (nee Jayaweera), loving father of Rasika and Anjana, brother of Nalini and Padmini, brother-in-law of late Vernon and Raja, Amarasiri and Gamini, expired. Remains lie at 18, Fairline Road, Dehiwela. The funeral will take place on Monday 26th September 2005. Cortege leaves residence at 4 p.m. for General Cemetery, Mt. Lavinia. No flowers by request please. 

SHANMUGARAJAN - MR S. (Uni Levers). Beloved husband of Flora, loving father of Sera, precious son of late Mr Shanmugarajan and Mrs Shanmugarajan, son-in-law of late Mr. David Joseph and Mrs. Issabelle Joseph, brother-in-law of Davidson, Stella, Rev. Arthur, Margret, Pushpam and Noble, expired. Cortege leaves Jayaratne Funeral Parlour, Borella on Sunday 25th September, today at 4.30 p.m. for interment at General Cemetery, Borella (Anglican Section). 

SIRIWARDENA - WIMAL (formerly of the Royal Air Force and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation). Son of late Muhandiram M.H.P.K. Siriwardena and Mrs. Siriwardena of "Sirisevana", Dondra, beloved husband of Rohini and loving father of Lakmin and Asitha, father-in-law of Rehana and Lukshika, grandfather of Sachintha and Ayuni, brother of late Maggie and of Emmie, late Lilian, Eddie and of Dr. Siriwardena, Soma, Prema, Dr. Karuna, Sanath, late Mahinda and of Nandani, passed away on 11th September. The remains were cremated according to his wishes. 

WEERAKKODY - CHANDRA  Daughter of late Mr A.B. Liyanage and of Mrs Liyanage, wife of late Mr Ariyawansa Weerakkody, mother of Ruwanthi and Gimhani, sister of Indranie and Srima, sister-in-law of Jayadeva Perera and Ranjith Irriyagama  27/12, Rosmead Place, Colombo 7. Remains will be at Jayaratne Parlour from 8 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. and cremation at 4 p.m. 26 Monday at Borella Kanatte.
