Dynamic Beijing: A photography exhibition

Dynamic Beijing is the attractive and meaningful title given to a photographic exhibition organised by the Sri Lanka-China Society in association with the embassy of the People's Republic of China in Sri Lanka.

This exhibition is especially presented by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China in commemoration of the 56th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. A ceremony was held at 3 pm on Thursday September 29 at the Main Lounge of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

China Ambassador Sun Guoxing, the declared open the exhibition. Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prof. Vishwa Warnapala and Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.M.G.S. Palihakkara graced the occasion.

A large number of very artistic, elegant and expressive photographs mounted and framed has been brought from China for this exhibition, The Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China who sent these collections of photographs which were produced by eminent photographers of China, has divided the collection into four sections.

"National Capital" is one section which highlights the city of Beijing which is the national capital of the People's Republic of China. The picturesque surroundings of the Beijing City, the most modern developments that have emerged and the preparation for Olympic Games in 2008 are salient features of this section. "An International City" is another section of the photographs, which portray the appropriate aspects of the city.

The Chinese photographers have beautifully exhibited the unique Chinese culture in their photographs. This section is named "A Famous Cultural Centre." The Chinese people are famous for the meaningful steps they have taken to preserve the environment along with this physical development of the country. They are also an extremely hospitable people. The fourth section of the photographs is called "A Hospitable Environment."

Sri Lanka-China Society President Amaradasa Gunawardana who organised this photographic exhibition with the assistance and the guidance of Chinese Embassy Cultural Secretary Chinese Embassy Madam You Shu states that this exhibition is very different from other exhibitions.

The unique and rare technical aspects of Chinese photography can be seen in this attractive collection of photographs.
