Centigradz Live in Concert

Organisers of the show

Centigradz Live in Concert was organized by the Alumni Association of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) to collect resources for the "Sisu Aruna" scholarship fund. This was the initial step in a series of fund raising projects planned for the "Sisu Aruna" scholarship fund.

The students of SLIIT experienced a variety of grooving sounds on the 9th September, 2005 at the Malabe campus auditorium, where they danced to the beat of four up coming bands in Sri Lanka. All participants enjoyed them selves to the maximum by riding the heat wave of Centigradz in Concert. If you weren't there then you definitely missed the spice of "Blue Print", "Side Fx", "Swatika" and the curry by "Centigradz".

The Alumni encourages fellowship building among its past and present students and cordially invites all past SLIIT and Curtin Students to join the Alumni and give their fullest support in carrying out the planned activities.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) is an institution that provides a complete education in the field of Information Technology, as the name implies. The Institute began functioning in 2000, with a handful of students amounting to 400. At present the Institute has a student cadre of 3000.

Upto now three batches have passed out from the Institute armed with a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology.

Thus enhancing the number of computer experts in our country. SLIIT was giving Sri Lanka the much needed impetus in Information Technology.

SLIIT has the largest campus in Information Technology in the Island which is situated in Malabe. The Metropolitan campus is located in Kollupitiya, while the main campus is in Malabe. SLIIT has a campus in Kamburupitiya and a branch in Kandy too.

This is a semi government Institute where students have to pay a sum of Rupees 51,000 for each semester.

The courses on offer at SLIIT are:

1. Bachelors Degree in Information Technology

2. Management Information systems

3. Computer Networking.

Foreign Degrees are also on offer

The Alumni Association of SLIIT in an endeavour to provide scholarships to needy students organised a musical show recently. This show was the first of it's kind and will be followed by many more, all in the cause of collecting funds for those students who wish to follow a computer Degree but were not in a position to do so because of financial constraints.
