Two dead 37 injured in bus accident

A Welimada bound Colombo private bus plunged into a precipice killing two passengers instantaneously while injuring 37 persons during the wee hours of yesterday.

The tragedy occurred around 2.00 am near the SOS village in Bambarakele, Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya Police had immediately launched a rescue operation and admitted 37 persons to the Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital. Some of them are in a critical condition, Hospital sources said. Nuwara Eliya HQI Saman Yatawara and his officials are conducting investigations.
