People will have the facility to purchase a travel insurance policy on-line. The entire process in obtaining a quotation to make payment will be via HNB Payment Gateway, said HNB Assurance Chief Executive Officer Manjula de Silva at a media conference on the re-launch of the HNB Website at the HNB Towers on Thursday.

De Silva said that customers would be able to receive Travel Insurance Certificates and Policy Document on-line and the facility to pay premia on life and general insurance policies via HNB Payment Gateway using any recognised credit card.

He said that the application made to the Website would enable the growing number of Internet users in Sri Lanka to obtain a range of services from HNB Assurance through the Web without leaving the comfort of their homes.

Referring to the several innovative features on the Website,De Silva said that the "Travel Pal", "Travel Max" and "Travel Wise" would create the most competitive market.

De Silva said that HNB Assurance had recently introduced a radical new 15-year investment plan that would generate maturity value of a one-time investment. He also said that an investment of Rs. 100,000 would appreciate to Rs. 300,000 in 15 years and the returns from his investments would not be subjected to taxes since it was a life insurance policy which would also provide a cover of three times the amount invested.
