Florence Wickramage of Daily News and Nihal P. Abeysinghe of Silumina received the prestigious President's Environmental Awards in the first ever President's Environmental Awards Ceremony held at the Janadhipathi Mandiraya, Friday.

The Awards ceremony was organised by the Central Environmental Authority and was presided over by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. Environment and Natural Rersources Minister A. H. M. Fowzie and Deputy Minister Bandula Basnayake also participated.
