SAARC Business Leaders Conclave in New Delhi The "SAARC Business Leaders Conclave: South Asia Regional Integration and Growth", will be held on November 17 and 18, in New Delhi. It is organised by India's apex Chamber Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), along with other six Apex Chambers from SAARC countries. The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is the only Chamber of Commerce in the SAARC region, which is officially recognised by SAARC. India's Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the First SAARC Business Leaders Conclave, to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on November 17. The World Bank will be the "Knowledge Partner" of the Conclave. The South Asian countries have drawn up a comprehensive agenda for promoting intra-regional economic cooperation. The SAARC Business Leaders Conclave is an attempt by the private sector of SAARC towards realising the aspiration of South Asian Economic Integration. The Conclave will bring together on one-platform the business, diplomatic and developmental community across South Asia to achieve higher economic growth and reduce poverty. |
