Virtusa CEO receives national award

Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of software development and IT services, said that Chairman and CEO Kris Canekeratne received the Sri Lanka Sikhamani, one of the most prestigious national awards the Sri Lankan government bestows upon individuals making significant contributions to the nation.

The President honoured Canekeratne with this award for his distinguished services to the Sri Lankan business community - most specifically, for the establishment and growth of a dominant advanced technology centre in Sri Lanka.

As an IT service and consulting organisation whose revenue has increased 144 percent in the last two years due to strategic business expansion, Virtusa continues to build a strong presence in the US, UK, Sri Lanka and India.

"I am truly honoured to receive the Sri Lanka Sikhamani award," Canekeratne said. "This would not have been possible without the support of my family and the dedication and devotion of thousands of Virtusans who have gone well beyond the call of duty to build a world-class company with an extraordinary culture of excellence.
