Honda Civic and Honda City to enter market soon

The latest models of the prestigious Honda 8th generation Honda Civic and Honda City IDSI model and 2XV model will enter the Sri Lanka market very soon. The all new 8th generation Honda Civic has four exquisite models from 1.8V Man, 1.8S Man., 1.8S Auto and G power packed 2.0L engine.

When a car successfully goes through eight generations and still manages to cause a stir of excitement it is obvious that the manufacturer has struck the right chord. It has to be a car that everyone knows.

The 1.8 delivers an amazing 140BHP and the 2.0 delivers an astounding 160BHP is testimony for its superior performance and nippy acceleration with its standard advance V-Tec technology.

The shape and contours of the new Civic has evolved over the years and is now presented to the market with unbeatable looks moving away from its traditional contours and lines contributed immensely towards achieving the greatest milestone an automobile could ever achieve "The Car of The Year 2006" in the US market.

The new Civic interior is a class of its own and the instrumentation panel is by far the most unique. With a two-tier blue metre panel and a three spoke sporty steering wheel with cruise control (in some models) gives driving experience far beyond one's expectations.

The added features such as Standard 15' alloy wheels and 16' in the 1.8S and above models, electrically retractable side mirrors, cruise control, immobilizer and many more user friendly features takes one to the limit of driving pleasure and passenger comfort.

The newly developed V-Tec system further improves on Honda's original V-Tec (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) technology to allow the engine to retard intake valve closure timing under low engine-load driving conditions.

To take full advantage of the engine's performance characteristics, Honda has developed a new five speed automatic transmission that achieves powerful acceleration and superior fuel economy.

New unusual colours will also be introduced to the market with the launch of the new Civic 6-A - dark metallic purple, a vibrant light metallic blue and also a dark silver metallic and three different interior fabric options such as beige, gray and dark blue.

Staffod Motors, the local agent for Honda has called upon clients to make use of the last opportunity to own a 1.5L Honda Civic, the last generation of the 2005 late version with many factory fitted options such as side skirting, radio with anti-theft fog lights, alloy wheels and one of its kind rear flat floor board with all other standard options available in almost all popular colours at the Baseline Road "Honda Galaxy" showroom.

Honda City ZX V-Tec

While the City ZX V-Tec cannot spin to 7000-plus rpm like the old car did, keeping the motor blaring and the power flowing is intensely pleasurable.

As far as driving pleasure is concerned, is the fact that Honda has recelebrated the otherwise ultra-light electric power steering system. The recalibration improves efficiency and also reduces some power loss.

The new V-Tec motor makes the city, with its recent interior, suspension and steering upgrades a better old rounder than the old car ever was comfortable, fast and nice to drive with no genuine vices. Honda has given its class leading entry saloon a new lease of life.

Hyundai praised in 2005 Strategic Vision Total Quality Study

Hyundai garnered two segment winners in the 2005 Strategic Vision Total Quality Study. In the influential US market study, Tucson and Accent topped the Small SUV and Small Car segments. In addition, 3.61 percent of Hyundai owners reported no problems with their new vehicles, slightly ahead of the industry average, 73.43 percent.

"Hyundai is certainly doing a lot right to grow its position in the US market and provides another blueprint for domestics with its superior interior craftsmanship reported by its owners", said Daniel Gorrell, Partner-in-Charge of Strategic Vision's automotive division.

"Hyundai is within striking range of Toyota and Honda in respect to problems reported. With resolve, Hyundai may match these two quality leaders soon."

Hyundai set a new benchmark for the Small SUV segment with its Tucson.

Tucson owners rated it higher on roominess, quietness and innovation and reported that it provided them a feeling of refinement, which is typically not present in vehicles in this segment.

The Accent offered its buyers superior craftsmanship, style and thoughtfulness.

The Total Quality Study surveyed over 40,000 new-vehicle buyers who purchased their new 2005 vehicles from October-November 2004.

Buyers were asked an extensive array of questions about their complete ownership experience including buying, owning, and driving their new vehicles.
