Bling-bling this Christmas

ODEL, a premier shopping mall in the country launched its new theme for this festive season. During the Christmas season ODEL goes under the theme "Bling it on ODEL". Accordingly, House of ODEL will be decorated with a fabulous blend of crystal detailing, the hues, in lilac and pink.

This year ODEL breaks new ground with a stunning"Bling" effect, which invades its premises from the roads leading upto the store to the inside and outside of the ODEL department store itself.

No longer is classic elegance enough for a season which is filled with colour and an unmatched sense of festivity. This is the time of year that traditionally ODEL replaces all-year-round styles with an all encompassingseasonal theme. Thus, ODEL introduces "Bling" as the concept , this year.

"Bling" is all about embracing the style that is most noticeable-looking fabulous and over-the-top rather than safe, mundane and demure.

"Bling" is a phrase for the prevailing fashion of our time. Although it has been around from the early 90's,"Bling" now has taken on a new meaning. It has grown up over the past twenty years not only restricting itself to clothing and accessories but also to interior designing.

The word "Bling" itself earned a place in the lexicographers,"bling-bling" means "The sparkle of diamonds captured in flashing highlights of cultural glam. The razzle of gold exploding in dazzling tings of urban glitz"

In keeping with Sri Lanka's soon-to-be hottest trend this season, ODEL transforms its white mansion at Alexandra Place, and the newly emerging facade features to an all "Bling" concept.

Trendy and innovative designs and effects re-interpret the use of chandeliers, mannequins wearing their "Blingest" outfit; men attired in big golden chains and bracelets. Meanwhile, crystal balls and chandeliers of many shapes, forms and colours cascading through every nook and corner of the department store give ODEL a "Bling", yet seasonal, attitude.

This year too, as has now become the custom at this time of the year, ODEL's eagerly anticipated seasonal campaign is sure to provide customers the most satisfying experience. This well-established approach by ODEL exists to kindle awareness in customers. It also ties in with a global philosophy used across the retail industry at large - catering to the customer's 'value' and 'shopping experience' as key attributes to suggest product alternatives for busy and harried customers.

As such, while celebrating with a festive spirit through colour and flamboyance, ODEL also provides the best guides to stay fashionable, find your own style and buy exciting gifts at the right value for money.
