Police spikers win six titles Police Sports Club spikers fared well at the State Services Volleyball Championships at Torrington Square Sports Complex winning both the men's and women's 'A' division titles. In addition to winning the two main titles, Police Volleyballers also became champions in the men's 'C', 'D' and 'E' divisions and the women's 'B' division. Police Sports Club was awarded the State Services overall Volleyball championships trophy for their fine performances while the Sports Development Department took the runners-up trophy. The championships results: Men's - 'A' Division - Police SC 'A' beat Police 'B', 'B' Division. Sports Development Department beat police SC, 'C' Division. Police SC beat Sports Development, 'D' Division. Police SC beat Sports Development Department, 'E' Division. Police SC beat Education Department , over - 40 Tournament. Sports Development Department beat Education Department, over 50 Tournament. Sports Development Department beat Railway Department. Women's - 'A' Division, Police SC beat Sports Development Department, 'B' Division. Police SC beat Sports Development Department. The state Services Volleyball Championships was organised and conducted by Darwin Perera, Deputy Sports Director and Lakshman de Alwis, President, Ceylon Government Services Sports Society Ltd. |
