MAC Holdings to handle Vietnam Airline's cargo MAC Holdings cargo sales agent for Vietnam Airlines Vietnam Airlines is the national carrier of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which holds a reputation for being a fast growing international carrier, while most other carriers are struggling for survival with financial crisis, as a result of high fuel cost and lost of market share due to heavy competition. Vietnam Airlines currently flies to 33 direct on line destinations in Asia, Australia and Europe. The airline is also looking forward to commence direct flights to USA from Vietnam, before end of year 2007, subject to U.S. government approval. General Manager Airline Division of MAC Holdings Chamara Ranasinghe announced that, "Although Colombo is an off-line station presently for Vietnam Airlines, its products and services would cover most important markets around the globe and serve the Sri Lankan market with 100% commitment and focus. All freight agents and customers from Sri Lanka could use the carrier's prime services to Vietnam, Japan, China, Australia, Korea, Taiwan, France, Germany and Russia". The airline also provides interline services to selected destinations in U.S.A. The C.E.O. of the company, Andre Fernando in sharing his views mentioned, 'the organisation is honoured to represent the airline in Sri Lanka and service its customers exceeding expectations. Vietnam Airlines Cargo is represented by MAC Aviation Services (Pvt) Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, a private owned company involved in providing global logistics and total transportation solutions in Sri Lanka/Maldives. The company's airline division is a member of FAGSA (Federation of Airline General Sales Agents) and the exclusive associate member in Sri Lanka for EGSAC (European General Sales Agents Cargo). |
