alliance between Mountain Hawk Express and Hayleys
The new strategic alliance between Mountain Hawk Express and Hayleys Advantis will make a one stop shop for all transport needs in air, sea and ground for Sri Lankan customers, said Regional Vice President , FedEx Express Middle East and Asia region Hamid Osman. The strategic alliance was announced on Thursday. The agreement between the two companies was signed six months ago. Sri Lankan exporters can benefit from integrated logistic solutions from Hayleys Advantis, deep knowledge of the market from Mountain Hawk Express and connectivity to the global air and ground network of FedEx Express, Osman told the media. Today 80% of a country's production is used locally and only 20% goes to the international market. Therefore efficient transport and delivery services will play a major role in the global economy in the next decade. Osman said that Sri Lanka's exports are growing and the economy is sound. Sri Lankans have demonstrated incredible courage in the post tsunami recovery. "I had heard about Sri Lanka as a land like no other' but now I feel the Sri Lankan people are also like no others". "We can connect Sri Lanka to the world market", he said. Mountain Hawk Express is a licensee of Federal Express Corporation. As a result of the alliance Mountain Hawk Express is geared to take control as the country's leader in air express courier service to over 220 countries. The alliance aims at offering customers value addition through integrated logistic solutions such as warehousing, sea transportation, along with the air express services offered currently. (GW) |
