Dehara wins
2 golds for Sri Lanka in Hong kong
Sri Lanka Synchronized Swimming team put up a fine display to achieve success, winning six medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze at the Synchronised Swimming Open Competition conducted by the Hong Kong Aquatic Sports Federation and held at Kowloon Park Swimming Pool in Hong Kong recently. Over 50 competitors participated at this meet from several Asian regions. Dehara Katipearachchi excelled for Sri Lanka, winning both gold medals in the Under-12 Paddle Stroke event and 13-15 years Figure Competition. She won a bronze in the 13-15 Solo Event. Elisha Gomes won a bronze in the under-12 Egg Beater Stroke event and Ruvini Illukkumbura a bronze in the 16-18 Solo Event. Gayani Warnapura, Hashani Warnapura, Ruvini Illukkumbara, Dilini Kithsiri, Deethri Samarajeewa, Dehara Katipearachchi and Elisha Gomes won a silver in the Open Team event. |
