Estate
workers get title deeds
Estate Infrastructure and Livestock Minister C. B. Ratnayake told the Sunday Observer that President Mahinda Rajapakse would officially hand over 800 title deeds to the houses of estate workers in the Hatton area this month. During the past 10 years, the Estate Infrastructure and Community Development Ministry had built 21,000 permanent houses for estate workers. However, title deeds had not been given to most of these houses. Minister
Ratnayake said that 800 workers would receive their title deeds before the
end of this month. Arrangements have been made to provide deeds to others
before the end of this year. (MPM) |
