Hospital
receives funds for development
by Deraniyagala Roving Correspondent By the efforts of Provincial Minister of Health, Indigenous Medicine Lalith Dissanayake coupled with his strong commitment to upgrade the hospital by DMO Dr. Abeysekere, Deraniyagala hospital has been the recipient of fifty (50) lakhs from the PC Health Ministry to develop this medical institution. This hospital which serves the medical needs of a large section of people from villages and estates, lacks some of the basic medical needs, which was brought to the notice of the PC Health Minister by the DMO. The Minister, who made official visits to this hospital instructed his officials who accompanied him to allocate funds to provide a Operating Theatre, staff quarters and other urgent needs. This hospital, according to hospital sources, will see more development from next year. The Minister during his visit had also complimented the staff and minor employees for their dedicated service to patients. |
