Mohan de Lanerolle first Sri Lankan in International Equestrian Sport

Mohan de Lanerolle will become the first Sri Lankan to represent the country in International equestrian sport when he participates at the International Jumping Competition CSI One Star to be held in Pune, India from January 27 to 29.

The Sri Lanka Equestrian Association has been actively encouraging equestrian sports in Sri Lanka in the past few years.

After gaining affiliation to FEI (world body for equestrian sports) the sport has gained popularity here in Sri Lanka with the holding of endurance races and dressage competitions by the local body.

Mohan de Lanerolle has trained in both England and Australia and this will be the first occasion that he will represent the country. The Sri Lanka will match his wits against competitors from countries like India, England and France besides many others.

The local association also plans to organise a similar show jumping competition in the near future.

Sunil Fernando will accompany Mohan de Lanerolle as manager.
