Vogue awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification
Vogue Jewellers, the first jewellers in the industry received the ISO 9001:2000 certification, an accomplishment of which we are justifiably proud of said Managing Director Vogue Jewellers, Anura Parakrama Hemachandra. The ISO certificate was presented by Madam Shiranthi Rajapakse. "Since its very inception the company not only lived up to but exceeded expectations and receiving the ISO certification is the latest in a long list of achievements," Hemachandra said. The ISO certification was awarded to Vogue Jewellers by its authorised representative for Asia, ICS India. Managing Director ICS India, Sundar Kataria and the local ISO Consultant, Lal Fonseka made the presentation. "Vogue set the pattern and the rest of the industry soon followed, a trend that continues even to this day," said Director, Vogue Jewellers, Nandadeva Perera who added that the company could well boast of making history when they became the first to bring in a reigning Miss World to Sri Lanka, Ms. Aishwarya Rai. "A great deal of the company's success must be attributed to its staff who to date number over 350, of these, over 200 being craftsmen," Perera said. Minister for Media and Information Anura Priyadharshana Yapa launched the Vogue website. "For a company that is rich in history and steeped in tradition, yet with its focus on the future, today marks a significant milestone in our history, giving us the impetus to strive and attain still greater heights," said Vogue Jewellers, Management Representative for the ISO, Kalyani Karunaratne. |
