Kidney patient needs help

L. K. Rasika (30), a mother of three girls, is suffering from end stage failure of both the kidneys. Kandy Teaching Hospital doctors say that she is in need of Haemodialysis and a kidney transplantation.

She appeals to the public to donate a kidney with `B' Group positive. Some special investigations and certain drugs are not available at the hospital, she may have to purchase them from outside.

The transplant team had advised the patient to keep at least Rs. 200,000 for any unforseen emergencies. She is also in need of a further sum of Rs. 300,000 for her recovery after the transplant.

K. Chathurika Anurangani, 10 years old, a student in Ilukpotha K. V who is expecting to sit for the Grade 5 scholarship is suffering from a severe heart failure and consultant Court Thoracic Surgeon Dr. Aruna Kapuruge in Sri Jayawardanapura General Hospital has admitted her to undergo immediate surgery which will cost Rs. 300,000.
