Anura Rohana joint 11th in Pakistan by Lal Gunesekera Sri Lanka's professional golfer, who is now playing in the Asian Professional Golfers Association (APGA) Tour, fared pretty well at the Pakistan Open Championships when he was joint 11th with five others. Rohana had rounds of 71, 70, 71 and 70 for a total of 282 and joining him were India's Arjun Singh (69, 69, 75, 69), Pakistan's Shabbir Iqbal (70, 67, 73, 72), Imdad Hussain (68, 72, 71, 71) and Matloob Ahmed (70, 70, 70, 72) together with Mark Mouland of Wales (68, 65, 71, 78). Nine strokes ahead was England's Chris Rodgers 273 (69, 64, 68, 72) who won the title over Indian duo of Jeev Milkha Singh 277 (68, 69, 71, 69) who was joint second with Amandeep Johl (68, 67, 73, 69). In joint fourth place on 279 were Frankie Minoza of the Philippines (72, 73, 69, 65) and Pakistan's Muhammed Munir (70, 68, 66, 75), while in joint seventh position on 280 were Germany's Jochen Lupprian (72, 68, 70, 70) and India's Ashok Kumar (68, 70, 70, 72). Australia's Marcus Both (70, 71, 71, 69) and Barry Hume of Scotland (70, 72, 66, 73) were joint ninth, followed by Sri Lanka's Anura Rohana, Arjun Singh, Iqbal, Hussain, Ahmed and Mouland, who were joint 11th. Seventy two professionals were in contention for the title from 20 countries, including England, India, Philippines, Malaysia, Pakistan, Germany, Australia, Scotland, Wales, England, Japan, Sweden, Singapore, Myanmar, USA, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand and South Africa. |
