DHL opens Express Centre in Kollupitiya DHL Keells (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka's leading express and logistics company, inaugurated its state-of-the-art Express Centre in Kollupitiya. The facility at Galle Road, Colombo 3, will cater to the increasing demands of DHL's retail customers in Sri Lanka. The new DHL flagship facility features cutting-edge technology, such as track-and-trace terminals where customers can track their own shipments, and offers a range of products and services including Jumbo Box and Express Pallet targeted retail customers. With this latest addition, DHL now has seven Express Centres in Sri Lanka. During the last four years, DHL Keells (Pvt) Ltd. has made significant investments towards the development of infrastructure and facilities in Sri Lanka. The investments include a new 40,000-square-feet Country Office facility at Vauxhall Street in Colombo. Slated for completion in November this year, the purpose-built facility will house the administration and operations arms of DHL in Sri Lanka, and features state-of-the-art shipment handling and security systems, including digital surveillance systems, access control, a Quality Control Centre, and a larger shipment-processing area. Speaking at the inauguration of the new Service Centre, Chaminda Hewamallika, Country Manager, DHL Express Sri Lanka, said, "The retail customer base in Sri Lanka presents us with exciting growth opportunities. We find that more and more individuals are beginning to seek our express delivery services and their needs are quite diverse. |
