All-time record price for tea

An invoice of Somerset FGS1 and Clydesdale FGS1 were sold at Rs. 226 each per Kg at the sale concluded on February 7 and 8. These invoices were purchased by Ms. Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd Tea Division and May Tea Exports (Pvt) Ltd.

Somerset estate is managed by Talawakelle Tea Estates (Pvt) Ltd Managing agents. Hayleys Plantation Services Limited and Clydesdale estate is managed by Agarapatana Plantations Ltd Managing Agent, Lankem Tea and Rubber Plantations (Pvt) Ltd.

The brokers involved in this transaction was Ms. Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.
