Fazal, Sunil moves into SLRFU

Fazal Mohamed and Sunil Karunanayake will be uncontested for the posts of Secretary and Treasurer respectively at the annual general meeting of the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) to be held on Saturday (February 25) at Trans Asia Hotel at 10 a.m.

Mohamed was the Acting Secretary after Dilroy Fernando was appointed as Chief Executive Officer, while Shantha Kurumbalapitiya, who was the Treasurer for quite some time, decided not to contest this year.

Priyantha Ekanayake and Michael Jayasekera will continue as President and Deputy President respectively.

Eleven other persons are contesting for seven posts in the SLRFU Council. An important discussion regarding amendments to the SLRFU constitution is to take place on this day. (L.G.)
